All political parties, including the new one, should prioritize public welfare, Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan said yesterday (27 February).
“I am not involved in the activities of the new political party as I’m currently involved in government work,” Asif said after speaking with villagers at the Akbarpur High School ground in Cumilla’s Muradnagar last evening.
He expressed hope that all political parties in Bangladesh, not just the new one, would prioritise the welfare of the people as their main goal.
“The people should be the main focus of political activities,” he added.
Regarding the upcoming elections, he said that no final decision has been made about the local government elections yet, but discussions are ongoing.
“You will be informed as soon as a decision is made,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the adviser inaugurated a road and visited the Bangra Bazar Police Station.
Senior officials from the district administration, district police, and the LGRD department, were present at the events.
