Three other changes have been made to the police administration
A new police superintendent has been appointed for Narayanganj in the backdrop of the recent agitation in the area concerning a spate of abductions in the area.
The new superintendent is Khandakar Muhid Uddin, police headquarters’ Senior Information Officer Kamrul Ahsan told the Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.
Muhid Uddin was the former police superintendent of Narshingdi, the official said.
Former Narayanganj SP Syed Nurul Islam was removed earlier following a spate of abductions, seven murders following abductions, in Narayanganj.
Agitation prevailed through some areas of the district in response after bodies of those abducted surfaced in the Sitalakhya river.
Three others reshuffled
Police superintendent of Shariyatpur Saifullah Al Mamun has been appointed as the new SP of Narshingdi, police official Kamrul Ahsan said.
Rafiqul Islam of Rajarbagh Police Lines has replaced Saifullah as the SP of Shariyatpur, he added.
Former Narayanganj SP Syed Nurul Islam has been moved to the special branch.
