The newly appointed Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma reached Dhaka on Wednesday night.
A senior official of the foreign ministry confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo on Thursday evening.
Pranay Verma, former ambassador of Vietnam, will replace Vikram K Doraiswami, who left Dhaka for the United Kingdom (UK) last Sunday to join as Indian high commissioner there.
Earlier on 29 July, the Indian foreign ministry issued a press release over the appointment of Pranay Verma to Bangladesh as new high commissioner.
Pranay Verma graduated in mechanical engineering, and worked for Tata steel before joining at the foreign ministry.
