History of the birth of a nation should always be authentic and fact-based, former planning minister AK Khandker has observed.
“Formerly history was tainted to gain personal interests. True was replaced by false and this still goes on. This book is written with keeping this in mind,” the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Bangladesh Armed Forces during the Liberation War also said while addressing the launch of a self-authored book in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The Bangla book titled “1917: Bhetare Baire” [1971: From inside and outer world] was launched at Bengal Gallery. The write amalgamated his experiences and observations he achieved during the war in the book published by Prothoma Publishers.
The programme was presided over by historian Sirajul Islam and attended by Dhaka University Emeritus Professor Anisuzzaman, Liberation War Museum trustee Sarwar Ali and Illinois State University Professor Ali Riaz.
AK Khandker in his book, priced at Tk 450, delivered some unknown and important information on Liberation War.
