The Myanmar government has waged undeclared war against Bangladesh, claimed Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Thursday.
Myanmar security forces trespassed on Bangladesh land repeatedly and the neighbouring country also made repeated violation of Bangladesh’s airspace, said the party secretary-general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
At present, the crisis of Rohingya refugees has turned into as the number one issue of humanitarian disaster in the world and BNP wants national unity among the political parties to face the crisis, he said.
‘But the government ignored us (over the demand of forging national unity),’ Fakhrul said.
The BNP leader was addressing a press briefing held at Cox’s Bazar district BNP office this morning.
He said Myanmar government uprooted Rohingyas from their homes where they had been living for thousand years.
Myanmar army personnel set fire to Rohingya villages, shot the ethnic minority people dead, gang raped Rohingya women and girls, he said.
Buddhist people of Myanmar also took part in the cleansing of Rohingya ethnic minority from the Rakhine state, Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘And, it is all crimes against humanity.’
‘We are condemning such kinds of activities.’
‘The solution of Rohingya crisis, we believe, will be solved only through recognising their nationality by the Myanmar authorities,’ he said.
The Rohingyas must be repatriated to their homeland and the Myanmar government should rehabilitate them, he said.
‘We do not want to do any politics in Rohingya crisis but the government is doing politics.’
Fakhrul said, ‘We urged the government for developing good relation also with India, China and Russia to resolve the crisis.’
