On Oct 7 last year, an explosion ripped through the second floor of a dormitory at the Jamayetul-Ulum-Al Islamia Madrasa, run by Hifazat-e Islam leader Mufti Izahar and chief of a faction of the Islami Oikya Jote.
Five students were injured — three of whom died later while under treatment.
All the accused are now in jail except Mufti Izahar.
Three cases were filed over the blast – a murder case, one under Acid Control Act and another under Explosives Act.
On June 11, police pressed charges against the Hifazat leader and four others in the murder case and on Feb 10 nine people including Mufti Izahar and his son were charged in the case under Explosives Act.
Mufti Izahar was also indicted in a case of failing to submit his wealth statement.
