US Ambassador Dan Mozena has said his country is and will be cooperating with the government.
He was speaking at an event organised by the Barguna district administration on Thursday.
Mozena said the US would continue to cooperate with the government to build a prosperous Bangladesh.
He lauded the people of Bangladesh for their hard work and creativity.
The US envoy said Bangladesh had become a self-reliant country by its own efforts.
Bangladesh is going to achieve the Millennium Development Goals with its own effort as well, he said.
USAID mission’s Director Janina Jaruzelski, who was also present at the interaction session, said they were providing Bangladesh with $200 million to work for development projects including disaster management.
She said they would help the poor become self-reliant and work to ensure nutrition for the mothers and neonates.
