In response to BNP chief’s remarks that the ruling party leaders should prepare their passports to flee the country, Railways Minister M Mazibul Hoque on Thursday said Khalea Zia is now issuing frequent threats to the government out of her frustration and failure.
He was talking to reporters at Akhaura Land Port on his way to Tripura of India.
Addressing a public rally of the BNP-led 20-party alliance at Niaz Mohammad High School ground here on Tuesday, Khaleda said the ruling party leaders, including the Prime Minister, should get ready with their passports to flee the country to escape what she said public wraths instead of making any attempt to arrest her.
Mazibul Hoque said Khaleda Zia had tried to antagonise the nation against Awami League through her imprudent speeches before the January-5 national election. “But she couldn’t foil the polls. She had failed completely. And now she is making such remarks out this failure.”
Turing to the train services during the upcoming Durga Puja and Eid-ul-Azha, the minister said the government has taken all-out measures to ensure the safe journey of homebound people.
He said 10 additional trains alongside the regular ones will ply during the Eid and Puja rush while 130 additional coaches and 30 locomotives will be added to the regular fleet.
During the three-day visit to Tripura, the minister will attend a programme marking the centenary of a school. He will also meet the chief minister of Tripura.
