Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson, Khaleda Zia, will appear before a Special Judge’s Court-3 of Bakshibazar in Dhaka on Sunday in Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases.
Khaleda’s lawyer Sanaullah Miah on Saturday said, ‘Khaleda Zia will appear in court of Bakshibazar tomorrow morning.’
Zia, also the former prime minister, has been staying at her office in Gulshan since January 5.
On February 25, the Special Judge’s Court had issued warrant for arresting Khaleda Zia as she did not appear in the court during proceedings in those embezzlement cases on ‘security grounds’.
The court on March 4 had set April 5 for furthering the proceedings of the graft cases after scrapping the defence’s plea to withdraw an arrest warrant issued against Khaleda.
Criminals attacked Khaleda’s car on December 24 last year when she was on her way to the makeshift court in the old part of Dhaka city.
