BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has convened a meeting with the allies after a faction of the Samyabadi Dal led by Dilip Barua decided to join the alliance.
Barua was a minister in the Awami league-led Grand Alliance government during its 2009-2013 tenure.
The 19-Party alliance’s meeting will be held at the party chief’s Gulshan office on Wednesday night, Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said.

A five-member delegation led by acting general secretary of Samyabadi Dal Sayeed Ahmed met Khaleda Zia on Tuesday.
After the meeting Ahmed said they would join the 19-Party alliance.
The breakaway faction of the Samyabadi Dal asked Barua to resign from the cabinet.
The rebels expelled him from the party later.
“Since then we have been running the party after forming supreme council,” Ahmed said.
The faction of Samyabadi Dal led by Dilip Barua is an ally of the Awami League-led 14-Party alliance.
Parties of the 19-Party alliance are BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Oikya Jote, Khelafat Majlish, Bangladesh Jatiya Party, Liberal Democratic Party, Kalyan Party, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party, National Peoples’ Party, National Democratic Party, National Awami Party (Bhasani), Labour Party, Muslim League, Islamic Party, People’s League, Jamiate Ulamaye Islam, Democratic League and Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar Ahmed).
Kazi Zafar Ahmed-led Jatiya Party joined the alliance last after a row with party chief HM Ershad over joining the Jan 5 national polls.
