Khaleda mother of militancy: Inu

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Thursday said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is the mother of militancy as he patronises militants.

“Khaleda is the mother of militancy…she patronises militants and wants to save militants,” he said.

The minister was addressing a reception accorded to Birangonas at Dhaka University’s Teachers Students Centre (TSC).

Accusing Khaleda Zia of maintaining a deep relation with militants, Inu said militancy must be rooted out and she needs to be driven out of the country.

He said the government will not sit in a dialogue with BNP unless its parts the company of militants and Jamaat-Shibir.

Terming Jamaat-Shibir as militant outfit, the information minister said Jamaat-Shibir is like snake and they are involved in conspiracy to destroy democracy in the country.

“Militancy and Jamaat-Shibir are more dangerous than military rule and graft,” he claimed.

Inu said nobody would be able to protect the war criminals from their trial for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

DU pro-VC Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmed (Education) and president of Social Aid Initiative Dr Abu M Delwar Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.
