A day after a crucial meeting with her party’s policymakers, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday night sat with top leaders of the 18-Party Alliance to finalise its next course of action following the Prime Minister’s offer for forming an all-party polls-time government.
The nearly two-hour meeting that began around 9:15pm was held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office with Khaleda Zia in the chair.
However, the alliance leaders did not brief journalists about the outcomes of the meeting as the BNP chief is going to meet the press on Monday.
Earlier on Saturday, Khaleda also had a meeting with BNP standing committee members and extensively discussed the PM’s proposal.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Oli Ahmed, Bangladesh Jatiya Party chairman Andalib Rahman Partha, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islam central leader Abdul Halim, Islami Oikya Jote chairman Abdul Latif Nezami, Kalyan Party Syed Md Ibrahim and Jagpa president Shafiul Alam Pradhan were, among others, present at the meeting.
