BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has left for Nilphamari, where she is scheduled to address a public rally organised by the 20-party alliance on Wednesday.
Her Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told bdnews24.com, the BNP chairperson’s motorcade set out from her Gulshan house at 4:15pm on Wednesday.
BNP Vice Chairperson Selima Rahman is with her in the same car.
“Madam will spend the night at the Bogra Circuit House and continue the journey from 11:30am following day,” said Maruf Kamal.
The 20-party alliance’s rally, demanding an interim election supervised by a non-party government, will commence at 2pm on Wednesday.
Apart from Khaleda Zia, the alliance’s top leaders will address the rally.
Local BNP leaders said all preparations were completed to make the rally a success.
Khaleda will address the Nilphamari rally as part of her countrywide mass-contact programme.
Earlier, she took part at a rally in Jamalpur on Sep 27 last.
