Senior Awami League leader Tofail Ahmed on Wednesday said there is no alternative to electing Talukder Abdul Khaleque as the mayor of Khulna City Corporation to continue its development.
“He (Khaleque) has taken initiatives to remove the problem of water stagnation, and evicted land grabbers from the canal. He has also installed modern streetlights in the city,” he said while addressing a meeting organised by Jewelry Samity in the city.
Earlier, Tofail Ahmed along with another senior Awami League leader Amir Hossain Amu joined electioneering in favour of Awami League-supported Sammilita Nagorik Committee mayoral candidate Talukdar Abdul Khaleque in the city’s Helatola, Sir Iqbal Road and Dakbungalow areas.
