Bangabandhu Al-Arafah Islami Bank Junior (U-21) Asia Cup hockey has once again been postponed for indefinite time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We sought permission from the youth and sports ministry to host the Junior Asia Cup from July 1-10 a week ago but the ministry advised us to defer the tournament citing the dreadful situation of Covid-19. We will discuss the matter with Asian Hockey Confederation to fix another date for the tournament,” said Bangladesh Hockey Federation’s acting general secretary Mohammad Yousuf.

The tournament was originally scheduled for June, 2020 but it was deferred due to the pandemic. Later, it was rescheduled for January this year but the government advised the federation to defer the tournament again in fear of a second wave.
