The Jagannath University (JnU) authorities on Thursday expelled four students for their alleged involvement in the murder of Bishwajit Das during the opposition’s blockade on December 9 in the capital.
The action was taken based on a probe report of the university, said a press release.
The expelled students are: Md Kayyum Mia Tipu, a fourth-year psychology student; Rajon Talukdar, a fourth-year Chemistry student; Md Saiful Islam, a masters student of history; and GM Rashedujjman Shawn, a fourth-year history student.
The four are activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, a ruling Awami League backed student body.
On December 12, the university authorities expelled three students and cancelled certificates of two others for their involvement in Bishwajit killing.
Some Jagannath University students who belong to BCL beat and hacked Bishwajit to death during the blockade enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance on December 9.
