Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student associate body of BNP, announced a two-day programme protesting a court summon against BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman in a defamatory case.
As part of the programme, the JCD will stage demonstrations in all cities, district towns and universities on Tuesday.
They will also observe similar programme in all thanas, municipalities and colleges on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, a Dhaka court summoned Tarique Rahman asking him to appear before it on December 10 in connection with a Tk-100 crore defamation case filed against him on charge of calling Bangabandhu Sheikh

On September 29, Tarique at a discussion held at York Hall in East London termed Sheikh Mujib a ‘Pakbandhu’.
Besides, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal will also stage demonstrations across the country, including Dhaka city, protesting the court summon.
Jubo Dal general secretary Saiful Islam Nirob told reports that they will stage the programme in all thanas in the city and all divisional cities and district towns demanding the government immediately withdraw the ‘false’ case and the court summon against Tarique Rahman.
