The court hearing the Narayanganj seven murders case has issued a show cause notice to jail authorities for not producing before it ex-RAB commander Tareque Sayeed on Monday.
Senior Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin sought explanation from the authorities as to why the arrestee was not brought to the court along with others.
Twenty one among the 24 arrested in the high-profile murder case were produced before the judge, court police inspector Md Habibur Rahman told bdnews24.com.
“He issued the show cause notice after seeing that Tareque Sayeed was not among the accused and ordered that others be sent back to prison.”
The next hearing was scheduled for Dec 1, he said.
Two more accused were not present besides the former Lt Colonel and head of RAB-11. RAB members Billal Hossain is sick and Ruhul Amin is in police remand.
