Ruling Awami League mayoral candidate in Narayanganj city polls Selina Hayat Ivy on Thursday visited public administration minister Syed Ashraful Islam to seek his blessings.
Ivy met Syed Ashraf, also a presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), around 11:00am at his official residence at Bailey Road in the capital.
An AL leader who was present during the meeting told the Prothom Alo that Ashraf and Ivy talked in a cordial atmosphere for over half an hour.
He said during the talks Ivy requested Ashraf to keep her in his thoughts.
Asked about the meeting, Ivy told the Prothom Alo that she went to the Ashraf residence just to make a courtesy call on him.
The immediate-past general secretary of the ruling AL, Syed Ashraf, who regularly visits London where his family members stay, returned home on 27 November after a month long vacation there.
