Awami League Joint Secretary General Mahbubul Alam Hanif today blamed the BNP-Jamaat political alliance for today’s bomb attack at Ashura programme at Shia headquarters in old part of Dhaka.
The AL leader came up with the remark while addressing a press conference at the party’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital, Dhaka, this afternoon.
“The attack was not aimed at committing robbery or looting something. The attack was aimed solely at destabilising the country,” he said.
“The attack was carried out by a vested group which became unhappy with the country’s development. We all know who they are. They are BNP and Jamaat forces,” Hanif said.
