The BNP has rejected the all-party poll-time cabinet set to be sworn in on Monday, calling it a farce.
“It’s just another farce of the Grand Alliance government,” acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters on Sunday night.
His reaction came hours after Cabinet Secretary Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan announced that the all-party interim cabinet designed to oversee the 10th parliamentary election will take oath at 3pm Monday at the Bangabhaban.
His statement came after a meeting between President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the evening.
The President had endorsed and welcomed the Prime Minister’s plan of a smaller cabinet, Bhuiyan said, briefing newsmen at the presidential palace.
But the Cabinet Secretary did not give any further details.
