The International Cricket Council (ICC) sent its observation on the concern Bangladesh Cricket Board raised after their World Cup match against India and, though, it was not revealed publicly but it can be said that BCB will opt to let it go rather than stretching the unforeseen events.
Controversial umpiring decisions led the emotional query from the BCB high-ups after that quarter-final in Melbourne while the then ICC president AHM Mustafa Kamal’s comments only put salt on the wounded.
BCB chief-executive officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury confirmed of receiving the ICC reply on April 2 and said, “ICC sent the certain dismissal’s video footage a few days ago after we raised concern. In the aspect of our request they reviewed it and sent it to us.”
“Now we will send it to the experts and they will give their opinion,” added Nizam.
Kamal’s resignation a week back from the ICC and his comments only soared the relation between Bangladesh and India and BCB president Nazmul Hasan was prompt in cooling the situation down on Thursday by saying, “I cannot find any reasons for that (strained relationship between the BCB and the BCCI). It (Kamal’s resignation) has nothing to do with the relation of these two countries. We notified our concerns about the game, not India or its team. We never complained against a certain country. When we made a written complaint [to the ICC] a day after the game (March 20), we only stressed that, despite being available, technology was not being used and it happened more than once.”
Choosing to be unnamed a BCB high-up thinks the matter won’t be stretched further because whatever it is, the result of the World Cup match won’t change.
