Hire more from Bangladesh: Khaleda to Saudi Speaker

She requests the visiting Saudi Arabian Assembly Speaker to recruit both skilled and unskilled Bangladeshi workers in Saudi development projects

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia urged Saudi Arabian Assembly Speaker on Tuesday to recruit more workers from Bangladesh.

Khaleda made the request to the visiting Speaker Abdullah Bin Mohammad Bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh when he paid a visit to the BNP leader at her Gulshan residence.

BNP Standing Committee Member Tariqul Islam briefed reporters on what was discussed during the meeting.

“The opposition leader has requested to recruit more manpower from Bangladesh (to Saudi Arabia),” said Islam.

The Speaker briefed Khaleda about the steps his government has taken for developing Mecca and Madina.

Khaleda requested him for recruiting both skilled and unskilled workers from Bangladesh for the development projects.

The visit lasted for over an hour starting from 1:30pm. A 13-member team from Saudi Arabia is currently visiting Bangladesh on the invitation of Bangladesh parliament Speaker Abdul Hamid.

The Speaker, after the meeting, said they discussed issues that could contribute to better relations between the countries.

He thanked Khaleda for strengthening relations between the countries when she was in the power.

He has already called on President Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
