President Abdul Hamid on Sunday said Denmark has a greater scope for investment in Bangladesh’s ICT, energy and power generation, marine, fisheries, aquaculture, infrastructure development and other sectors.
He said this while outgoing ambassador of Denmark to Bangladesh Svend Olling paid a farewell call on him at Bangabhaban.
Mentioning that Bangladesh is now building middle-sized ocean-going ships as well as ferries for Denmark, Abdul Hamid said a greater scope of investment and trade has been created in this field.
During the meeting, the President observed that Bangladesh and Denmark are enjoying excellent bilateral relations that are characterized by traditional friendship, commonality of global views, economic cooperation and increasing bilateral trade.
The President appreciated generous Danish assistance for development of Bangladesh through Danida for poverty reduction.
The Danish envoy said Bangladesh has made an amazing progress in various economic indexes. “We want to engage more development and cooperation in various sectors,” he added.
