Home Minister MK Alamgir today said the government is moving forward to file cases against the persons who called hartal illegally and killed 18 people.
“The persons who called hartal illegally are responsible for killing 18 people and we are taking preparation to file cases against them under the Section 302, 304 and 307,” he told the House.
Earlier ruling Awami League lawmaker Abdul Matin Khasru, taking the floor on point of order, demanded the home minister’s statement on whether the government will implicate opposition leader Khaleda Zia in murder cases for killing 19 people during the last week’s hartal.
Matin Khasru, also a former law minister, told the House, “Some 90 percent of people gave us their mandate and I being a representative of the people want to know from the home minister whether the government will file murder cases against Khaleda Zia as the key accused.”
Taking floor on point of order, the ruling party lawmakers bitterly criticised the BNP-led 18-party opposition combine for enforcing hartals and urged the countrymen to resist the anarchists from killing innocent people and damaging public properties.
