The government has a plan to set up a technical school in each upazila and female technical school and college in each division of the country.
This was stated by Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid in Parliament on Sunday in response to a written question of ruling Awami League MP Faridul Haque Khan (Jamalpur-2).
The Education Minister informed that as part of the government plan, the ECNEC on January 19, 2014 approved a project for setting up technical school in 100 upazilas.
The work for the implementation of the project will start soon, he said.
Replying to another question of ruling Awami League MP Israfil Alam (Naogaon-6), Nahid said the government has prepared ‘ICT in Education Master Plan’ to introduce ICT at all levels of education.
Emphasising on ICT and technical education, the government has already made computer education compulsory from Class VI to Class XII, he added.
