Prime Minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy on Sunday said the government has nothing to do if those who did not support Bangladesh during the War of Liberation still do not support Bangladesh.
He made the remark while talking to reporters apparently indicating the United States.
Joy, only son of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, also said: “People of the country desperately wanted an election and it was held finally. People exercised their voting rights; it’s the big thing. It’s not a big matter who accepts or rejects it.”
He said the voter turnout could have been higher if there had been no violence.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Rehana, the younger sister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, sought blessings from all so that the government can continue to work for the betterment of the country’s people.
“I seek blessings. The way she (Sheikh Hasina) ran the country and the way she is working with courage… I seek blessings so that they can continue work for the country,” she told reporters after the oath taking of ministers at Bangabhaban.
Replying to a query, Rehana said she will help her sister the same way any other younger sister does.
