Govt allocates Tk9.5cr for apps development

The government is very much interested on the development of mobile application

The government has undertaken a fresh special programme for the training and development of the mobile applications at the national level under Information Communication Technology (ICT) division.

The finance ministry has recently allocated Tk9.47 crore, out of its total block allocation of Tk21.52 crore under ICT development funds, to implement the programme.

Confirming the recent allocation for the programme, a senior official of the finance division said, “Although it is a block allocation, the government is very much interested on the development of mobile application.”

Out of this fund, Tk4.25 crore will be spent for application development while Tk3.18 crore will be spent for training. Besides, there is a provision to spend Tk1.15 crore for collecting ideas on developing applications.

We have various programs on mobile applications development and it is nothing but another one of its kind, Nazrul Islam Khan, secretary of the ICT division, told the Dhaka Tribune.

There is a very big application developing program, which is under process, and upon completion of the programme, around hundred applications will be launched shortly, he added.

“People can get service easily from using these applications, which will also reduce their costs and hazards as well,” said ICT sectary.
