Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad on Sunday asked the party leaders and activists to take preparations for participating in the next national election from 300 seats.
JP, the key ally of the Awami League-led grand alliance government, will take preparations to contest the polls in 300 constituencies in the next parliamentary elections, and the district committees have been asked to prepare lists of prospective candidates from the grassroots level.
The directives came from the party presidium meeting held at its Banani office with party chief Ershad in the chair.
The meeting also decided to hold conferences of the expired 22 district committees by October next to strengthen party at the grassroots level.
The presidium members have been given responsibility to complete the conferences in the districts within the timeline.
JP presidium members Begum Rowshan Ershad, MP, Kazi Jafar Ahmed, Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, MP, GM Quader MP, ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar, MP, M Abul Kashem, MA Hannan, Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, Mujibul Haque Chunnu, MP and Sunil Shubho Roy were, among others, present.
