The BFF has decided to increase the foreign players’ quota from three to four and introduce the Asian-quota player for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League season. The 10th executive committee meeting of the BFF, presided over by its president Kazi Salahuddin, was held at BFF House Sunday where the decision was taken. Three foreign players, including one Asian, would be eligible to feature on the pitch at the same time.

The committee also decided to hold the upcoming premier league at at least five venues with only two clubs eligible to use one common home venue. All the league matches last season were held in one single venue, the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.

The committee also warned that the 13 premier league clubs must meet every condition of club licensing as less than one-third of 12 premier league clubs managed to do so the previous season. It was also decided that from the next Pioneer Football League onwards, the tournament will be held with the U-15 footballers, rather than U-16.

The date of the ongoing U-18 Football Tournament final was also finalised during the meeting. The grand finale will be held next Sunday at the same venue. The committee also decided to hold the tournament in accordance with the league basis from next season onwards, along with resuming the much-awaited Women’s Football League.
