ITEE test is recognised in 13 Asian countries including the second largest IT job market Japan
National Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) will be held Sunday officially for the first time in the country.
Nearly 450 local IT professionals and students will sit for the official international standardized examination, presently mutually recognized by 12 Asian countries, to get a global recognition of their IT skills, reports BSS.
The examination will take place at Dhaka University (DU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and Rajshahi University simultaneously.
Earlier, two trial ITEEs had been held in the country successfully in the last one year.
In Japan, ITEE is also a national standardised examination for IT professionals where five to six lakh IT students and IT professionals attend every year.
Bangladesh IT-engineers Examination Center (BD-ITEC) under Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry introduced the examination in the country.
The examination is being held under a project titled Capacity Building on ITEE Management with the help of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
One of the objectives of introducing ITEE in the country is to give international branding to Bangladesh IT professionals.
The certificate of ITEE will help the local Bangladeshi IT professionals to get international jobs around the globe.
Bangladesh has already showed its high IT talent earning the second position among seven Asian countries in its maiden trial ITEE examination, held in Dhaka last October.
Bangladesh achieved Information Technology Professional Examination Council (ITPEC) membership on September last.
It gives authority to the country to hold ITEE here officially simultaneously with other ITPEC member countries – Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam -every year.
ITEE test is recognised in 13 Asian countries including the second largest IT job market Japan and also honoured in the markets of European and American countries.
