A fire broke out at a market at Karwan Bazar on Sunday night.
Fire service assistant director Mojammel Haque told New Age at about 9:30pm that 22 fire fighting units were working to douse the flame that broke out at about 8:00pm.
He said that they were facing problem in dousing the flame because of strong wind.
He said that no casualties were reported while most of the shops including that of timbers were burnt to ashes.
Tejgaon police station officer-in-charge Mazharul Islam said that police cordoned off the area so that fire fighters can work smoothly.
