Fakhrul: Ministers exposing attitude of lordship
The BNP leader says the ruling party leaders consider themselves as the masters of the country’s people out of their vanity of power
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that ministers are exposing their “lordship” attitude by issuing threats to give a befitting reply if BNP holds any political program.
Speaking at a discussion on Saturday, he also said the government is making fun of people having failed to control the soaring prices of essentials, reports UNB.
“The ministers of Awami League have been saying for a few days that they will not accept (BNP’s) programs and give a befitting reply. You have been doing politics for a long time resorting to such threats. They cannot tolerate anyone. They hold a lordship mentality,” he said.
The BNP leader also said the ruling party leaders consider themselves as the masters of the country’s people out of their vanity of power.
National People’s Party (NPP), a component of BNP-led alliance, organized the program at the National Press Club in Dhaka demanding the release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

“We want to do politics in political way and also want to change the government with the same path. This government is like a terrorist, and it is creating barriers to democratic practices to hang onto power by suppressing people.”
He said though their party is not allowed to hold any rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, the ruling party and its associate bodies are doing so regularly at the venue.
“Their month-long program is being held at Suhrawardy Udyan spending crores of taka.”
The BNP leader urged the party leaders and the alliance partners to go to villages and localities across the country instead of doing indoor programs to mobilize public support against the government.
“It is time for forging unity. We must unite the entire nation against the misrule of the current despotic and fascist government.”
He criticized the government for what he said its failure to rein in essential prices, including that of onion, salt and rice.
“Our food minister said there is a huge pressure on the rice market as people now used to eat fine rice. Such remark is nothing, but a mockery.”
As the Supreme Court sought report on Khaleda Zia’s health condition, Fakhrul urged the medical board of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) to submit an authentic report before the apex court on December 5.
“We want the truth, nothing else.”
On November 28, the Appellate Division deferred the hearing on Khaleda’s bail petition in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case till December 5.
The court also asked the BSMMU to place Khaleda’s health reports before it by December 5.
