Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday has been admitted to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University after High Court’s order to admit him to the hospital for proper treatment.
Senior jail superintendent of Dhaka central jail, Farman Ali said Fakhrul was admitted to a regular cabin of BSMMU under police custody around 1:00pm today.
Earlier, the High Court on June 10 asked the prison authorities to get ailing BNP leader admitted to the BSMMU immediately.
HC passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by Fakhrul’s wife Rahat Ara Begum seeking a directive to get her ailing husband admitted to BIRDEM Hospital.
