Another explosion has taken place in the 12-storied capital high-rise, Mizan Tower, in Kalyanpur area on Thursday evening.
Nilufer Yesmin, duty officer, Fire Service control room, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the second explosion.
She said: “The second explosion has taken place in the evening. But, it was not so serious.”
Md Abdul Alim, senior station officer of the Mohammadpur fire station, told the Dhaka Tribune: “The explosion took place at 6pm, breaking the glasses of a restaurant housed on the third floor.
The firefighters have requested the locals to take extra security measures in order to avert any untoward incident. Meanwhile, the plying of vehicles on the adjacent road is being controlled by the law enforcers,” he added.
Earlier on Wednesday, the building rocked after an explosion occurred due to gas pipe leak, sending the people living in it into panic.
Later, firefighters evacuated the building and cut the power and gas supply.
