Doctors must remain in position: Nasim

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Sunday said the government will evict illegal structures as well as shops adjacent to medical colleges and hospitals, aiming to ensure clean environment in hospitals.

 

“This type of structures are familiar as terrorist hub. Syndicates have developed centering the establishment which play role to damage the environment and standard of hospital,” he said.

 

Nasim said this while addressing National Neuroscience Conference at National Institute of Neuro-Sciences & Hospital in the city.

 

The government, if necessary would take stern action to evict those structures. The government wouldn’t compromise to make the environment of hospital neat and clean, said the Health Minister.

 

Reiterating his call to doctors to remain in their respective work-station to ensure service, Nasim said “A doctor posted in thana level, wouldn’t get transferred under any circumstance before fulfilling two years. Those who will complete full tenure will get priority in higher education.”

 

Health Minister said the government will consider to allot vehicles for upazila Health Officer and to give incentives to the doctors who will be posted in the grassroots.

 

Mentioning that the crores of people of the country depended on government’s hospital for treatment, Nasim said it will be unfortunate if they don’t get service. And it is doctors who have to ensure the service.
