Coast guard personnel recovered 19 bodies from Teknaf shore after a trawler capsized in the Bay of Bengal due to Cyclone Mahasen.
Police, quoting locals, said many bodies were still floating near the coast, reports our Teknaf correspondent.
Didar Ferdous, inspector (investigation) of Teknaf Police Station, told The Daily Star that the trawler with an unknown number of passengers on board sank in the Bay sometime on Wednesday night after the cyclone hit the coastal belts.
The passengers, mostly Rohingyas, started their journey from Teknaf to reach Malaysia on Wednesday, he added.
