CTG BOAT CAPSIZE Bodies of father, kids recovered

Bodies of a father and his two children were found in the river Karnaphuli in Chittagong Friday, two days into they went missing after a boat capsized in the river.
The deceased are Harun, 40, a resident of Chittagong, his son Maruf, 12, and daughter Ishrat, 9, said Mohiuddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Karnaphuli Police Station.
Locals found Harun’s body floating in the Karnaphuli river near Diamond cement factory area around 5:00am, reports our correspondent in Chittagong.
Local people also recovered the floating bodies of the two children hours later from ghat No. 11 of the river and Boalkhali area, the police official said.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Wednesday evening, Harun, along with his wife Parvin Akter, 30, and three children had been returning home in the port city after enjoying Eid vacations in Chandanaish upazila of the district.
They hired a boat at Bridgeghat around 7:45pm to reach their Sadarghat residence. When the boat was halfway across the river, a goods-laden engine boat struck it around 8:15pm, throwing them into the water.

Harun’s wife Parvin and their another son Miraj survived the accident.
