Chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha will leave Dhaka for Canada on 10 September.
According to an earlier administrative order of SC, the CJ will stay in Canada from 10 September to 17 September, reports UNB.
He then will fly to Japan in a bid to attend an international conference title Conference of Chief Justice of Asia and the Pacific which is set to be held in Tokyo of Japan from 18 September to 21 September.
The chief justice is scheduled to return home on 22 September.
In absence of Sinha, senior justice of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) Md Abdul Wahhab Miah will take charge as an acting chief justice.
Ministry of law, justice and parliamentary affairs issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday following an order of president Abdul Hamid.
The president appointed Md Abdul Wahhab Miah as an acting CJ exercising Article 97 of the constitution of Bangladesh.
According to the notification, justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah will perform his duty as an acting CJ from 10 September to 22 or the flying date of CJ Surendra Kumar Sinha until he comes back and takes charge.
