He hopes opposition’s stay in JS won’t be short-lived
“With these polls, they’ll have to prove they (EC) can hold free polls…this is an acid test for the Election Commission,” the minister said while addressing a discussion meeting organised by Bangabandhu Academy at the Institute of Diploma Engineers.
Welcoming BNP for its decision to join the parliament session, Suranjit said it is not only the ruling party but also the opposition should equally contribute towards making democracy meaningful.
Suranjit said the whole nation has got elated with the opposition’s decision to join parliament, and is expecting that the parliament session will be livelier.
“I hope your stay in parliament won’t be short-lived one. You wouldn’t boycott session showing lame excuses. It’s the duty of all to make parliament effective,” Suranjit added.
Krishak League general secretary Shamsul Haque Reza, among others, spoke at the discussion, held with vice-chairperson of Bangabandhu Academy Fatema Jaman in the chair.
