Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Wednesday submitted charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court accusing former prime minister Khaleda Zia and 37 other opposition leaders in a murder case filed in connection with arson attack on a bus in Jatrabari that killed one and injured over two dozen.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner (prosecution) Anisur Rahman told New Age that the DB investigator submitted the charge sheet to the office of the chief metropolitan magistrate’s court this afternoon.
After three months and a half, the DB’s Demra zonal team sub-inspector Bashir Ahmed Khan submitted charge sheet in one case to the CMM office and sought legal action against the accused named officially.
On January 23 during the blockade sponsored by BNP-led alliance some miscreant hurled two petrol bombs on a bus that left 28 people burn injured at Jatrabari later one of the victims died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on February 1.
Jatrabari police filed the case against 68 BNP-Jamaat leaders, a day after the incident.
