Awami League general secretary and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam on Saturday said criticism of the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2014-15 doesn’t suit BNP.
“Criticism does not suit those who placed budget by wearing uniform. Moreover, they have no right,” he said indicating BNP as the party criticized the budget proposed by Finance Minister AMA Muhith on June 5 for next fiscal (2014-15).
The AL general secretary made the remarks while talking to journalists after placing wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, marking the historic six-point day, at Bangabandhu Bhaban in city’s Dhanmondi 32.
About the economists’ criticism of the proposed budget, Syed Ashraf said that only Debapriya Bhattacharya expressed confusion over the implementation of the budget. “So, there is no meaning of replying to his (Debapriya’s) remarks.”
He said: “The proposed budget is people-friendly.”
