Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) have beaten a Bangladeshi national to death along Panchagarh border and picked up another along Jhenidah border.
In Panchagarh, the BSF men dragged the body of a Bangladeshi cattle trader into India after beating him to death along Pradhanpara border in Sadar upazila at noon.
The deceased was identified as Mantajul Islam, 26, son of late Mafijuddin of Shingroad Naekpara in the upazila.
Acting commanding officer of Panchagarh Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-18 Major Shamim said the BSF troops from Jhakuapara camp took away the body of Mantajul from under a bridge on the Small Jamuna River.
The victim’s family members claimed that BSF members beat Mantajul who went missing three days ago to death.
In Jhenidah, a Bangladeshi cattle trader was picked up by the BSF members at Kusumpur frontier point in Moheshpur upazila early Sunday.
The victim was identified as Saidur Rahman, 38, son of Mohiuddin of Dakatia village in the upazila.
Sources at BGB Benipur camp said the BSF troops from Fatehpur camp in India caught Saidur after a hot chase while he entered the Indian territory to bring cattle around 12:30am.
Meanwhile, a company commander-level flag meeting was held between BGB and BSF near pillar No-61/7 in the afternoon when the Indian border force told their Bangladeshi counterpart that they handed Saidur to Hakimpur Police Station in India.
