Amar Ekushey Book Fair will be allowed to spill over to the Suhrawardy Udyan this year.
This has been decided at a meeting with Culture Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor in the chair, said Shamsuzzaman Khan, director general of Bangla Academy.
A part of the fair is being shifted to the Suhrawardy Udyan because of shortage of space at the Academy, say officials.
The meeting decided that the inaugural and other cultural ceremonies and discussions would be held at the Academy, said Shamsuzzaman Khan.
Stalls of various government institutions, including those of Dhaka University, Asiatic Society, Shilpakala Academy and National Museum will be set up on the academy premises, he said.
No stall, he said, will be allowed on the Doel Chattar-TSC road between Bangla Academy and Suhrawardy Udyan.
