Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has held the BNP and its allies responsible for the violence before the Jan 5polls and said the party will have to ‘answer’ for it.
“They now have to answer, why they had to kill so many…the people will give their reply in the coming Upazila elections,” the veteran Awami League leader said at a book launching ceremony on Thursday.

He said that a conspiracy was on to ‘thwart’ the continuity of Constitution.
“Those who have been rejected by the people are trying to sabotage the constitutional process.”
Recalling the 2004-grenade attack on an Awami League rally in Dhaka, Amu said: “The attack was aimed at eliminating Sheikh Hasina to complete the unfinished conspiracy of 1975.”
Railway Minister Md Mazibul Hoque said at the function: “The 10th Parliamentary Election was held in line with the Constitution. Those who do not believe in democracy and the Constitution have not taken part in the polls.”
