BNP leader found dead in Kushtia

 A local BNP leader was found dead in a crop field at Horora Nasimpur in sadar upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam Nuri, 48, former joint general secretary of Jogoti union unit BNP and son of Shwarup Hossain of Chechua village in the upazila.

Quoting witnesses, police said a group of miscreants came in two microbuses and picked up Nuri at gunpoint while he was sitting in a local tea shop on Thursday evening.

Spotting the body of Nuri in the area, locals informed police.

Police recovered the body on Friday morning and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police suspect that miscreants might have strangulated him to death and left the body there.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of a youth in Doulatpur upazila in the morning
the same day.

The deceased was identified as Masud,24, son of Hafizur Rahman Shutka of Char Sadipur village under the upazila.

Family sources said some friends of Masud had called him out of the house on Thursday night and since then he did not come back.

Locals spotted his body in Laldoar field in the  morning and informed police.
