BNP leader Amir Khasru remanded
BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury was placed on a one-day remand by a Chattogram court in a case filed under the ICT and Special Powers acts.
Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Shafiuddin passed the order around 2:00pm, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting Assistant Commissioner (Prosecution) Kazi Shahabuddin Ahmed.
Meanwhile, law enforcers asked Khasru to provide his audio clip so that they can match his voice with the conversation that was reportedly leaked earlier. But Khasru denied to give any clip of his voice, his lawyer Advocate Nazimuddin told The Daily Star.
A court in Chattogram on October 21 sent BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru to jail in the case.
Why was the case filed against Khasru?
The cases were filed on charges of provoking the recent student movement for safe roads, and also conspiring with a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader aiming to destabilise the country
