Biswajit beaten during blockade final

On December 9, some 10 to 12 activists of pro-Awami League student body Chhatra League beat and hacked Bishwajit to death during the early hours of the countrywide road blockade enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.

None of the alleged killers of Bishwajit Das was either leaders or activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), prime minister’s office claimed Thursday.

Presenting the detail information of the alleged killers, Abul Kalam Azad, press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said the killers’ families are supporters of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.

“Family members of Rafiqul Islam Shakil are the supporters of BNP, grand father of Mahfuzur Rahman Nahid was a notorious Rajakar and his uncle is also a BNP supporter, uncle of Emdadul Haque is a Jammat activist, Meer Md Noore Alam is a listed criminal,” Azad claimed while speaking at the emergency press conference at the PMO.

He said prime minister believed that killers and terrorists have no political identities and the killers of Bishwajit must be brought under trail.
