Billboards won’t ease public anger: Moudud

”We got to know the government spent Tk 1 billion on occupying 2000 billboards of 200 advertising firms in the darkness of the night,” Moudud, the party’s Standing Committee Member, told a discussion at the National Press Club on Wednesday.

”The billboards claim the nation has been swept by development but these can’t subside public anger,” he added.

Speaking at the programme, he also criticised the Anti Corruption Commission.

”Our country has an independent Anti Corruption Commission. They are overlooking the matter as it itself is full of corruption,” he alleged.

He also talked about “tougher anti-government programmes” after the Eid to compel it to meet the opposition demand for the restoration of caretaker government.

Moudud also responded to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s criticism of his party Chairperson Khaleda Zia over her promising the people to introduce a new type of government, if elected to power.

“Our leader (Khaleda) meant introducing a new culture of politics.”
