Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (BAPEX) have started exploiting gas on an experimental basis from Comilla’s Srikail gas field-3.
State-run Petrobangla Chairman Hossain Mansur inaugurated the gas field and opened it for exploitation on Saturday.
The field, located in Muradnagar Upazila’s Maklishpur, is the 25th gas field of the country.
BAPEX will exploit 16 million cubic feet gas from the reserve daily on experimental basis.
The Srikail field was discovered in July 2012. This is the third gas field in the Muradnagar area.
